How to critique your own photographs |

This post is designed for amateur photographers, so the rules are basic and may not apply to fine art, but it has an excellent set of questions to ask yourself if you want to take great vacation snaps and the like.

Is it in focus?
Is it exposed properly?
Is the lighting and white balance appropriate?
Should anything be cropped?
Does it follow the Rule of Thirds?
Are there any leading lines?
Is the photo balanced?
What was your intention and can it be easily seen?
What do you feel?
Is it interesting and appealing?

Please don’t neglect reading the original post just because I’ve summarized it. Believe me, it’s worth the three minutes it will take to read.
