2008 Magazine Cover of the Year

As I mentioned in this post, the American Society of Magazine Editors was slated to announce their choice for the best magazine cover of 2008 on October 6. Of course, once they found out I was indisposed, they agreed to keep it under wraps until I was back up and running against.

Wait… Huh?.. Oh…

Apparently they made the announcement as scheduled. And the obvious winner… well, won. Yes, the New York Magazine cover suggesting that Elliot Spitzer thinks with his #### ($$$$$ is the proper medical term) swept the awards. It took Best Cover, as well as Best News Cover and Best Coverline.

The ASME has a listing of all the 2008 winners, as well as some other interesting tidbits – “stories behind the covers,” and a listing of all the covers that were entered into the contest this year.

As usual, congratulations to all the winners, finalists, and entrants. There really is some amazing graphic design work going on out there in the world.
