NPG Curators Discuss Portraits of Two Presidents

Every Thursday, the National Portrait Gallery conducts a series of portrait talks. Within the past month, two of the talks have focused on multiple portraits of Abraham Lincoln as well as one of Barack Obama.

The Many Faces of Lincoln featured NPG historian David Ward discussing four portraits taken from the One Life: Mask of Lincoln exhibit, which he curated.

Barack Obama by Martin Schoeller is Anne Goodyear’s discussion of a portrait Martin Schoeller did of then-Senator-elect Obama for the December 2004 issue of GQ. The portrait is part of the exhibit Portraiture Now: Feature Photography.
