Jorg M. Colberg, known to the blogosphere as Conscientious, has curated a show for the Michael Mazzeo Gallery, Bare. It closes this Saturday, January 24. The gallery’s website contains an online version of the exhibit, which brings together several contemporary photographers’ work with the nude form.

In Spotlight: ‘Bare’, Colberg discussed his motivations in putting together the show, and the challenges that photographers discuss when they want to show the human body as it really is, not as Madison Avenue wishes us to believe it is.

He makes some good points. I won’t add any commentary, because I’m still forming my own thoughts on this subject as I continue a long-term figure study project.
